Your data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Rue has no servers of its own and no way to access your information. Your data is yours.
If you're signed into iCloud, your data also syncs across your own devices through your private iCloud database (CloudKit). This is your private Apple iCloud, not a Rue server: Rue never sees or stores this data. You can turn it off in your device's iCloud settings.
Yes. Rue is specifically designed to work for irregular cycles, not just the assumed 28-day standard. Predictions are generated from your actual logged history, not a population average. When your cycle is unpredictable, rue reflects that honestly rather than showing a confident date it can't actually support.
The Pattern Mirror feature is especially useful for irregular cycles because it looks for pre-period signals in your daily logs (mood, energy, symptoms) rather than relying on calendar math.
You can delete your data at any time from Settings within the app. Deleting the app from your iPhone also removes all local data. Because there are no servers holding your information, there's nothing else to delete on our end.
rue+ is managed through your Apple ID, like all App Store subscriptions. To cancel:
Open Settings on your iPhone > tap your name > Subscriptions > find rue > tap Cancel Subscription.
You'll continue to have access to rue+ until the end of your current billing period. After cancellation, the app reverts to the free feature set and all your data remains intact.
Yes. Sign in with the same Apple ID on your other device and use the "Restore Purchases" option in Settings. Your subscription will be recognized.
Your cycle data also moves with you: when you're signed into iCloud, it syncs across your devices through your private iCloud database. Rue never sees this data, and you can turn the sync off in your device's iCloud settings.
Go to Settings in the app and look for the Export section. Free users can export a plain text summary of their cycle history. rue+ subscribers can export a formatted PDF designed to be readable at a medical appointment.
The export includes cycle dates, duration, logged symptoms, and daily scores. It stays on your device until you choose to share it.
Yes, optionally. You can enable HealthKit integration in Settings. When enabled, rue can read and write menstrual cycle data to the Health app. You control exactly what is shared through the standard iOS permissions dialog, and you can revoke access at any time.
HealthKit integration is off by default.
